“I have been a little cooped up the past few days with plenty of entertainment from the animals, lots of cozy moments, and now I am very ready for life to resume outside of my house.”
If you are reading this and the magazine is not late, let us all take a collective moment of gratitude. We did have to push our cover shoot back a bit because the roads were simply unsafe and I was not about to risk anyone sliding their way into danger just for a photo. Deadlines matter, but not more than people.
That being said, this issue was really fun and really full. I absolutely love Local Love voting season, especially when it comes to real estate. These people are competitive and I say that with love. We had over 1,000 votes, which tells me y’all showed up and showed out. Be sure to check out all the winners throughout the magazine. Bragging rights were absolutely earned.
Next month we head into Home Services, and if real estate taught us anything, it is that y’all take this very seriously. Take just a couple of minutes to vote for your favorite local home service business. It truly matters and it makes a big difference for these local owners.
February also brings birthdays for two very special people in my life. A very big happy birthday to the one who made me Mommy, my daughter Mylee Jane, who is officially 22. I am not sure how that happened when I am clearly still very young. And happy birthday to the man who shows me the sweetest kind of love, Jay Hall. God truly blessed me with some great Aquarians and I am not mad about it.
As we ride out this wild ice and snow, stay warm and stay safe. And once the roads clear, please get out, shop local, and eat local. Our small businesses are counting on you to help make up for the days they were closed, and trust me, they will be thrilled to see you.
Here’s to warmer days ahead. January, you can go ahead and wrap this up anytime now.
