Well, did we really only get a week of crazy weather? Texas is funny like that. One minute we are bundled up and the next we are wondering if we skipped spring altogether and moved straight into summer. I am personally hoping we get a little bit of that sweet in between season. The fresh air. The open windows. The projects getting done kind of weather.
This issue is all about home services.
Every single one of us needs trusted locals to call when something breaks, leaks, cracks, clogs, overheats, or simply needs upgrading. The people featured in this issue do not just do a job. They show up when it matters. They work long hours. They solve real problems. What they do is hard work and it is important work.
In my generation, we were told the path was college, get a degree, and work in corporate. I absolutely believe college and trade school are valuable during that stage of life. But there is something powerful about the men and women building blue collar businesses. They are creating strong companies, providing for their families, and building legacies that will last for years.
There is dignity in hard work. There is pride in building something from the ground up. There is strength in supporting the people who keep our homes and our community running.
Help me celebrate the achievements of these local business owners. Use them. Refer them. Support them.
Coming up on March 14th is our 9th Annual Pub Crawl. Nine years. That is something to celebrate.
Old Town will be full of green, full of energy, and full of people ready to have some fun. We will be painting Old Town Green all afternoon and celebrating in true Local Life style. Do not forget about the costume contest. You all never disappoint and I cannot wait to see what you come up with this year.
This year will be bigger and better than ever with a few fun changes and a few surprises. You will have to be in the know to get into the Cool Kids area and trust me, you are going to want in.
