Wings of Hope Equitherapy

Allison Gross, Executive Director

Wings of Hope Equitherapy in Cleburne, Texas, has been transforming lives through equine-assisted services since 1996. Founded to foster inclusion for individuals with physical, mental, or emotional challenges, it uses the unique bond between humans and horses to help participants build independence, enhance abilities, and discover strengths.

Programs include therapeutic horsemanship, which allows individuals with disabilities to develop skills, confidence, and purpose, and Equine Discovery field trips, which blend education and connection with horses. Mounted therapeutic horsemanship improves physical strength, balance, and flexibility while promoting cognitive and emotional growth. Ground-based horsemanship focuses on communication and emotional regulation through activities like grooming and leading, offering a safe space for personal development.

Community support is essential to Wings of Hope. Volunteers—whether horse-savvy or not—play a crucial role, while financial contributions ensure services remain accessible. As Johnson County’s equine-assisted therapy center, Wings of Hope continues its legacy of compassion, offering hope, healing, and growth for individuals and groups alike.
