The agency began as “The King Agency” on October 16, 1991, with Sara’s dad, Bruce King, as the agent. Bruce started with zero customers and built an amazing legacy over a 27-year period. On November 1, 2017, Sara took over as agent and has grown the business since taking over, including acquiring a retiring agent’s book of business in January of 2020.
The King Agency is a family-owned insurance agency offering property and casualty policies, as well as life insurance and annuities. They offer home, auto, motorcycle, RV, landlord, commercial, life, annuity, and even special event or pet insurance. Something people may not know about the agency is that although they are a “Farmers Agency,” they have the ability to write a built up as much as you want it policy, or they can strip down the coverage to a bare minimum. They offer the ability to build the policy the way that you want it written, within your insurance guidelines. The team at The King Agency considers themselves “Storm Preppers for Life Events.” According to Sara, they “know that the Storm is always coming, and we try our best to be prepared to help our Farmers Family in those situations.” Their legacy agent, Bruce always said “Insurance is for things that ruin your life, not ruin your day.” They try to be the one that shows up to help when events that ruin your life happen.
The Kings are a 4th generation Burleson family. Sara’s grandparents, parents, herself, and now her children are growing up in this area. They love being able to give back to small businesses, their customers, families, and friends. They love the opportunities that this provides and the people that live here. If you follow The King Agency on Facebook, you will often see examples of how they support local businesses whether it be from purchasing meals or participating in city-wide initiatives. The King Agency does its best to participate in as many events and causes as they can. They have helped with Meals on Wheels, Harvest House, Toys for Tots, and Wings of Hope Equine Therapy. They also try to shop local, stick with their local customers, friends, and families. They are always looking for more opportunities to give back and participate and get out in the community!
