His leadership in the Sex Offender Registration program and mentorship of new detectives highlight his unmatched work ethic and integrity.

In just his first year, Officer Casiano has made a significant impact. His exceptional skills in de-escalating tense situations with empathy and care have built trust within the community. He has also supported specialized units with translation services and contributed to programs like graffiti abatement and outreach to unhoused individuals. His dedication and compassion set a high standard for future officers.

As Crime Analyst, Alex has been instrumental in enhancing department operations. She spearheaded the development of multiple dashboards—saving the city significant costs—tracking contacts with unhoused persons, graffiti abatement, and more. Her leadership extends beyond Burleson, serving as President of the Texas Law Enforcement Analyst Network. Alex’s work directly improves community safety and department efficiency.

Telecommunications Supervisor Erica Roberts displayed exceptional compassion and professionalism this year. In one incident, she guided a disoriented man to safety, reuniting him with his family. In another, she purchased food and clothes for two children left in dangerous conditions, despite dealing with personal hardship after a house fire. Erica’s selflessness and empathy embody the spirit of this award.
