Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the annual parade, riding alongside my mom and whatever animal I happened to have at the time. And of course, I absolutely loved the fireworks. There was just something magical about looking up at the sky and watching those bright colors explode overhead.
Now that I’m older, I have an even deeper appreciation for what this holiday represents. I feel incredibly blessed to live in a country built on values that mean so much to me. I’m not only a proud American, but also a proud Texas woman! (I still want to say “girl,” but since I’m pushing 50, I guess “woman” is the more appropriate choice.)
Now, let’s talk about the two amazing people on this month’s cover. I adore them both and am proud to call them my friends. If you’re looking for a new banking relationship, you truly can’t go wrong with either National Bank of Texas or Ciera Bank. Both understand what it means to bank locally and how important relationships are to the communities they serve.
Over the years, they’ve celebrated my successes, listened to my ideas, and even helped me think through those “what should I do?” moments. They’re like co-workers who don’t actually work for me—and that’s a relationship I value tremendously.
