I have to admit, it feels strange not doing all the last-day-of-school activities anymore. Instead, earlier this month, I spent the day hauling my daughter’s college stuff down a long hallway, down flights of stairs, and across a parking lot to one of our cars. Definitely a different season of life.
Congratulations to all the graduates this year — kindergarten, high school, and college. This time of year is one of my favorites on Facebook because everyone is sharing milestones, memories, and proud moments. There’s something really special about seeing a community celebrate its people.
Originally, this issue was going to focus entirely on the amazing salons we have in our area. Unfortunately, the economy is hitting many small businesses — including salons — pretty hard right now, so we decided to switch directions and highlight all the fun things happening around town this summer for all ages. Even so, this Local Love was incredibly popular, bringing in right at 5,000 votes.
Next month will be our financial issue, and I’m excited to spotlight the banks and financial professionals serving our community. We truly have some great ones here.
